Thorsby’s Town Council voted Monday to allow Alcoholics Anonymous to hold meetings temporarily at Helen Jenkins Chapel.
The meetings will be held Wednesday evenings, possibly starting next week, for one month, and then town officials will re-evaluate the arrangement.
At the time of the regular meeting, town officials were unsure about the exact time of the meetings but said that a sign would be posted outside Helen Jenkins Chapel with the time prior to the first meeting.
In other business, the Council:
•Approved minutes from the Feb. 15 meeting.
•Approved minutes from a special meeting on Feb. 19, at which the Council approved two resolutions related to a project to re-pave Jones Street and County Road 50 (which are the same road).
•Approved an ordinance setting the positions of mayor and five Council seats prior to the upcoming municipal election (the positions will stay the same).
•Approved paying bills with any necessary transfer of funds.
