Grover Eugene “Gene” Hathcock, passed away March 5 at the age of 80.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ressie Frances Chandler and Grover Cleveland Hathcock; four brothers and one sister.

Gene is survived by his companion, Carol Killingsworth; sister, Frances Bulger; grandson, Christopher Powell and a host of nephews and nieces.

Gene proudly served his country in the National Guard for 10 years.

There was a graveside service at Southern Heritage Cemetery on March 7 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of your choice or St. Jude’s Hospital in Gene’s name.
