John Lloyd Lucas, 70, of Clanton, passed away on Jan. 18, surrounded by his wife, companions, family and friends.
He was born on April 18, 1945, the son of the late Hurbert Lucas and the late Ruth Lowery Lucas.
He was a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Lucas; companions, Daisy and Davis; brothers, Charles, Earl and Jimmy and sisters, Mary, Linda, Carolyn and Ann.
He also leaves behind a host of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other very special friends.
A memorial service will be held Jan. 21 from Ellison Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Eddie Lightsey officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Gentiva Home Health, Southern Care Hospice, and also Dr. Jason DeBerry.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the West End Baptist Church Building Fund in his name.
