A two-vehicle wreck in Clanton on Jan. 8 resulted in a fatality.

The wreck occurred around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Hinkle Road and Second Ave. N. in Clanton, according to information provided by the Clanton Police Department.

The driver of one of the vehicles, Alice Webb Bittle, of Billingsley, was injured and transported from the scene to UAB.

Officer David Hicks with the Clanton Police Department said Bittle died from her injuries over the weekend at UAB.

There were two occupants in the second vehicle including an adult and child, who sustained minor injuries, according to Hicks.

The wreck is still being investigated by the Clanton Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit.

Hicks said he could not provide information at this time regarding how the wreck occurred.

Hicks did confirm that the adult and child were from Chilton County.
