Mars Hill Baptist Church
Fall is in the air; the wind is cooler, the sunshine seems brighter and God is still in control.
We thank our visitors for worshiping with us this Sunday and invite them to come again.
Did you worship this Sunday—really worship? Did you leave the cares of the world outside the doors of your church and come inside expecting a blessing from God, or did you slink in and slouch down in the pew hoping no one would notice you? God’s word says to rejoice, to praise him, sing and worship.
The only way you can really worship is to put your mind, soul and heart solely on Jesus; focus all you have on him, for he is the only one deserving of praise and worship. Amen.
Bro. William Short’s message was taken from Psalms 33:1-4: “Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous. For praise from the upright is beautiful. Praise the Lord with the harp; make melody to him with an instrument of ten strings. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy, for the Word of the Lord is right, and all his work is done in truth.”
Did you really take into your heart these words? The Word of the Lord is always right. What I say is less than nothing compared to the Word of the Living God. What you say is less than nothing compared to the Word of the Living God. God alone is right; his word is truth, life and joy.
In this world, there are many people seeking answers to questions about life; they need to find those answers, and they need to be searching the Word of God for all the answers to all the problems they have. God’s Word is right.
Everyone has an opinion; but only God is right. We can draw our own conclusions from God’s Word and try to make scripture say what we want it to say, but only through true study of God’s Word can we find the answer.
Many men write books about the Bible, about the end time and life’s problems. You can find a book written about any problem that you can think of, but there is only one book that is right, the Bible. God’s Word is spiritually written; therefore, it has to be spiritually discerned. Make sure what you read is truly from God, not man. God’s Word is right.
Praise God with musical instruments. Praise him with true joy from the heart. Be sincere in your worship. Worship is right. Worship is pleasing to the Lord. When Jesus is in the house, true worship begins.
None of us are righteous, not one; we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. A Christian is just a sinner saved by grace. The Lord’s house is a hospital for sinners, not a throne upon which we sit to judge others. Only God can judge. Our job is to love and lead others to Jesus, but he does the saving and the cleaning up.
Worship: the more you truly get it, the more you want it. Worship is right.
Jesus: the more you know him, the more you want to know. Praise his name; praise is right and pleasing to God.
The Bible: God’s Word is right. The more you study the Bible, the more you will understand and this will lead to a closer relationship with Jesus.
Does the world see Jesus in us, in me and you? What has God done for you? More importantly, what have we done for God? These are questions that need answers: God’s Word is right. Amen.
Please don’t forget your shoebox items this month. Hygiene products are needed during the month of September.
Please continue to pray for our church, our pastor, the sick, the lost, the hurting, our children, our schools and teachers, our missionaries, our military, our government and the peace of Israel. God is good, all the time. Amen.
