Sunday’s special music was “’Til the Storm Passes By” by Floyd Collins.
Bro. Shane brought a stirring message titled “God’s Way is Best.” His text came from Isaiah 55:1-13.
If we choose to follow our fleshly desires, we cannot be truly happy. Our way is not good for us because we cannot see beyond the moment, so we make decisions that are so often based on trial and error.
Instead, we must commit to God’s way. Does it not make sense to invest our energy and effort in the ways of the God of heaven, the Savior who has already been further than we will ever go in Christian service? He knows what tomorrow brings, and his way will make us truly happy. Glorify him, and follow his plan.
We all have made poor decisions and would like to have a “do over,” but if we commit our way unto the Lord, he will see that good things come to us. He has already won the battle of life and death and overcome the grave. He will win the final war. Does it seem like a good idea to cast your lot with a proven winner?
Jesus paid for all sin by giving his life for us. Those who listen to the things of Satan and want to continue seeking the short-term enjoyment of worldly sin will not be a part of the final victory. Jesus is the winner, and we can be right there with him.
In order to be part of the reigning King of Glory, we must submit to him; we must give our lives to him, and commit our way and decisions to him.
Why is it so hard to trust God, yet we put our trust in all kinds of things and people on earth that will undoubtedly disappoint us? God has done many amazing things. He makes no mistakes. We shouldn’t make God yell at us in his way in order to get our attention.
We stray off on our own, get into a mess, and then wonder where God is. This is because we put more stock in earthly fame and fortune than we do in living by God’s Word. He’s calling to us, and if we aren’t a child of the King, we are a walking time bomb of disaster.
God never sleeps, and he is everywhere; commit to him, and trust him while there is time and opportunity.
God bless all who read this, and please know you are invited to Samaria Baptist Church for a wonderful time in the Lord.
