Friendship Baptist Church
Our choir special was “Till the Storm Passes By” that was sung duet by Ty Moore and Dusty Dutton.
Bro. Ken’s (Daniel) message was from Psalm 9:5. His title was “God Provided Worship”. He spoke about the great king above all Gods.
Worship is founded on truth. God calls us to reverence, and we are called to respond. We honor God, but we must also listen to what he is saying before we live out what we hear.
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Friendship Baptist Church.

New Salem Baptist Church
Morning worship at New Salem Baptist Church began at 11 a.m., as the adult choir sang “Soon and Very Soon.
J.C. Pierce led the congregation in singing, “When We All Get to Heaven”, and the adult choir sang “Jesus is Coming Again.” Special music was performed by Matt and MaKinley Turner who sang “Blessings.”
Pastor Larry Reeser read from Psalm 100:1-5. In light of the world’s troubles we need to be joyful and praise the Lord. We should serve with gladness knowing that he is God and everything we have came from him.
As his sheep, we look to him for our very existence. Often we are reminded how we need to stay with the flock for our own protection. The Lord is good and his mercy is everlasting. There is no time limit on God’s love.
Bro. Reeser read from Habakkuk 3:17-18 and pointed out that we often depend on material things, but they fail we still rejoice in the Lord because of our salvation.
The 5 p.m. service began with song service and a reading from Proverbs 3 by Bro. Reeser. He reminded that we should stand when tough times come, and keep the commandments of God.
As we trust in the Lord and acknowledge him, he will direct our paths. If we honor the Lord with our substance, he has promised to provide abundantly. We must not despair when chastisement comes since only sons are corrected, and corrections are done in love.
Happiness comes when we find wisdom and understanding. Verse 35 said “The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.”
The morning service next week will include the Lord’s Supper service. The evening service will be our fifth Sunday night singing.
The youth of the church will serve spaghetti lunch Dec. 6 after the morning service, and the church will be traveling to the Kingwood Church in Alabaster on Dec. 12 to see “The Gospel According to Scrooge”. We will leave the church at 5 p.m.
The adult choir has worked very hard preparing for the Christmas Cantata which will be Dec. 20 and take place during the morning worship service. The children will present their program at the 5 p.m. service the same day under the direction of Karen Reeser.
New Salem’s upcoming schedule of services: Sunday, 10 a.m. Sunday school, 11 a.m. morning worship, 5 p.m. worship service, and Wednesday Bible study and prayer meeting at 6 p.m. Presently we are studying the book of Revelation.
You are invited to join with us at any of our services. If you need additional information, you can call (205) 389-1102.
