Mountain Springs Methodist Church

On Sunday morning, Ricky Cleckler led the congregation in the hymns of “Victory in Jesus,” “Glory-Land Way” and “I Want to Know More About My Lord.”

Bro. Roger Cleckler brought a devotion from Hebrews 10:19-23.

If Jesus is in our heart, we should live like we have already won. Truth will always win out. We’re going to win out in the end if we are saved.

After Sunday school, Cleckler sang, “That’s God.”

Bro. Don Graham preached on the importance of forgiveness. He focused on the scripture Colossians 3:13, which reads: “Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”

The congregation began Sunday’s service by singing the following hymns: “At Calvary,” “That Glad Reunion Day” and “Fill My Way with Love.”

Bro. Don Graham preached from Job 2:11. Job had good health, he prayed for his friends, he was a godly man, but Job was in prison.

We can be freed by Jesus Christ, and God can forgive us of our sins.

Cedar Grove Baptist Church

Upcoming announcements include a Live From Cedar Grove Church Radio Broadcast on Jan. 23 that would consist of 5 Hours of bringing the word from several different pastors of the surrounding counties.

Tune In to receive a great blessing!

Prayer concerns include our pastors, church family, our nation, those in hospitals and nursing homes, as well as the spoken and unspoken request.

Pastor Jeff Carroll’s text came from John 14: 15-31 and was entitled “The Comforter.”

Love God first, there is always going to be if you will I will. God said if we love and keep his commandments, and I will pray to the father and he will give you another comforter.

The Spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him, but you know him for he dwells with you and will be in you. When Jesus came he gave really two commandments to follow. No. 1: Love God with all your heart, mind and soul putting him first in your life.

No. 2: Love your neighbor as thy self. If you are going to get the comforter you are going to have to obey God. The comforter cannot come to you until you have a relationship with Christ. You cannot write a check out of an empty bank account.

We have here God the father, God the son, God the holy spirit, the trinity.

The God head all are one. You have to believe in all to believe in one. Only when we are born again can we receive the comforter. The world cannot receive the spirit of truth because the world does not know who Jesus is.

When the comforter comes into you it will set you on fire for God, the spirit will give you utterance. You cannot defeat the devil without God; Jesus gives us the victory, because he made us a promise.

Let not your hearts be troubled, Jesus will give you comfort. In order to get what God has for us we must, trust and obey. If you do not think you are getting what God has for you it is not God’s fault, it is your lack of closeness to God through prayer and his word.

The Bible is holy ghosted. You cannot get saved unless God calls you, you cannot just decide today is the day; God has to call you first. There is a difference in the Peace Jesus offers us from the peace the world has to offer.

Jesus’ peace let’s us know it is well with our soul. Having fear of losing everything you own, of dying, terrorism, is lack of faith.

Christians should rejoice and not be afraid. Jesus said the comforter has come, being in God’s word we know what Is going to happen before it does in the news. We have inside information folks, in the Holy Ghost. There is a shaking going on around the world, either you will trust God through faith in the Holy Ghost or you will turn loose from God.

The world we are living in is a very dark place, but that does not change God or the fact that we were sent a comforter.

In closing, God is in us working in us. If you are not saved, you do not have the Holy Ghost period.

Corinth Baptist Church

I hope everyone has had a wonderful first week of 2016! We at Corinth are excited to see what God has in store for us this year!

Do not forget to go over to Facebook and share your New Year’s resolutions. I will be holding check-ins throughout the year to help all of us stay on track.

No matter what your resolutions for 2016 may be, a new year brings a sense of a new beginning. Take the opportunity to leave behind the demons of the past and look forward to a brand new start.

Every day is a new day and a new chance to begin again. However, always make the most out of today for we are not promised tomorrow.

Most importantly, in all things you do, know that God is with you. Rely on him and all will be as it should.

I hope you all will join us this Sunday from 10-10:45 a.m. for Sunday School and 11:15 a.m. – Noon for preaching!

Until next time; may the bad times you faced in 2015 be the stepping stones to success. Have a very blessed 2016!
