Cedar Grove Baptist Church
Announcements include the Ednes night service at 7 p.m. as well as a live radio broadcast from Cedar Grove Church that will be held at that will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 23, 2016.
It will include five hours of preaching by various preachers from different counties, different churches taking a stand for God Be sure and tune in.
Prayer concerns focus on our pastors, our church family, our nation, the lost, those in hospitals and nursing homes as well as the spoken and unspoken requests.
Pastor Jeff Carroll’s text was from John 14: 4-14 and entitled “It Is All Jesus.”
If we love one another we have passed death unto life. Jesus is going to Heaven to prepare a place for us, if it were not so he would have told us so.
Now comes in doubting Thomas, which I am sure we have all been at one time or another being told something and doubting it to be truth. Thomas said Lord we do not know where you are going how can we know the way?
Clue in on some key facts. One of the things God’s word is its honesty. God does not want us to pretend to know something when in reality we do not know anything.
Everything we have need of is in Christ. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes unto the father except through me. (Jesus and the father are one). If you had known me, you would have known my father also.
Well next comes Phillip saying Lord show us the Father and it is sufficient for us. I would like to think here Jesus having to repeat himself because Phillip has apparently not being paying attention or listening.
Jesus says to him that he had been with you so long and yet you have not known me Phillip? He who has seen me has seen the Father, so how can you say show me the father?
Believe me that I am in the father and the father is in me, or else believe me for the sake of the works themselves. Jesus tell his disciples here that they will be doing works as he did and more because he goes to the father in heaven.
Here we are reminded there is no way to know how to get to heaven except through knowing Jesus.
There is no way to know truth without knowing Jesus. Satan will lie to you and tell you there are other ways to heaven, but Jesus is the only way. Jesus came to give us not only life, but life more abundantly, you have the physical life here on earth, but the abundant life comes from knowing Jesus.
The hunger that every man has to fill the emptiness inside of them. When we believe in Jesus and his works we are living by faith.
We have not because we ask not. Jesus tells us in his word and by his works “And whatever you ask in my name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you ask anything in his name he will do it. (Believing in faith). In closing “The key to being able to live in this world, and go through trials is Jesus. Facing life with Jesus knowing he can bring us through whatever comes our way.
The up coming New Year is like a new snow undisturbed, it is up to us where our tracks lead, Success is in Jesus. Victory is in Jesus.”
