James Harold “Jack” Dennis, 79, of Clanton, died Jan. 4 at UAB in Birmingham.

He was born on Oct. 12, 1936, in Chilton County, the son of the late Horace Greely Dennis and the late Gertie Patterson Dennis.

He was a radio station owner.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy O’Neal Dennis of Clanton; son, Jimmy Dennis (Karolina); daughters, Pam Yandle (Eric), Paige Dennis, Piper Dennis-Little (Aaron), 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and sister, Dean Minor.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Neal Dennis and parents, Horace and Gertie Dennis.

Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. Jan. 6 at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Clanton with the Rev. Matt DeBord and the Rev. Tony Smitherman officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
