Barbara Varden Codey, 69, of Clanton, passed away on Jan. 3, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born on Oct. 15, 1946, the daughter of the late Odis Varden and the late Bobbie Baker Varden.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Charles Codey of Clanton; daughter, Dana (Kevin) Cease of Clanton; son, Patrick “Pat” Codey of Clanton; daughter, Kimberly “Kim” Townsell of Clanton; grandson, Mark Townsell, Jr. of Sylacauga; grandson, Nicholas Townsell of Clanton; brother, Jimmy Varden and a host of nieces and nephews

She is preceded in death by her father, Odis Varden and her mother, Bobbie Baker Varden.

Visitation was held Jan. 5, from 5-8 p.m. at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 6 from Highland Baptist Church in Clanton at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Griffin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Highland Baptist Church Cemetery.
