Roy W. Hicks, born on Feb. 25, 1970, of Calera, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 23 after a long battle with multiple myeloma.

Roy is survived by his wife of 16 years, Joy Kane Hicks; son, Ethan Hicks; father and mother, Jerry (Eddie) and Cathy Hagood of Jemison; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Melissa Hagood and their children, Emily, Logan and Carson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Glenda Kane of Randolph; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dondi and Jan Sharpton and their son, Zach.

Roy was a loving husband, a proud father, a faithful son and a good friend to many.

Roy was a devoted Christian and a charter member of Christ Central Church in Calera.

The family received friends Dec. 26 from 12-2 p.m. at Randolph Baptist Church, 6221 Highway 36, Randolph, AL 36792 with a funeral service following.

The Rev. Tony Reynolds and the Rev. Jason Seales officiated his services.

Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial be made to the Roy Hicks Memorial Fund at Regions Bank.
