Joan Marie Nicholas, 71, of Clanton, passed away Nov. 16.

She was pre-deceased by parents, Harry and Grace Janikowski; sister, Catherine Kroll and brother, Donny Janikowski.

Joan was a volunteer with Gentiva Hospice and volunteered to visit residents at Hatley Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Pink Ladies and a member of “The Group.”

Her survivors include her daughter, JoAnn Dunn; sons, Frank Janikowski (Mary D.), William Gene “Nicky” Nicholas, Keith Allen Nicholas (Teresa), Carl Edmund Nicholas Jr. (Lisa Gail) and Craig Steven Nicholas; sisters, Peggy Lampshire and Audrey Kroll (Howard); brothers, Harold Janikowski (Scooter), Harry Janikowski, Conrad Janikowski (Sue) and Norman Janikowski; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, a host of other family members and all her “groups.”

A visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. Nov. 21 with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. both at Charter Funeral Home.
