Frances Marcus Moates Smitherman, 82, of Clanton, passed away Nov. 17.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, C.W. Moates; granddaughter, Lucy Crim and parents, Leonard J. and Amy Marcus.

She loved to spoil her children and grandchildren.

Frances loved to crochet and paint, she always had the prettiest Christmas tree, she hand made every ornament.

Her survivors include her husband of 21 years, Thomas Smitherman; daughters, Tammy Crim (Justin) and Pam Jones (Rick Bush); son, David Smitherman (Tammy Denise); brothers, Ralph Marcus and Robert Earl Marcus (Pearl); and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service is 5 p.m. Nov. 21 at Ellison’s Funeral Home in Clanton.
