Cecil Hilliard Smith, 84, of Maplesville, passed away on Nov. 7 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on Jan. 29, 1931, the son of the late Newton Allen Smith and the late Myrtle Clarice Wells Smith.

He was a mail carrier with the USPS.

He is survived by his wife, Jimmie H. Smith of Maplesville; daughters, Dianne Hain (Fred) of Raleigh, N.C., Sharon (David) Harrison of Maplesville, Debbie (Andy) Payne of Maplesville, Donna (Frank) Atchison of Plantersville, Benda Davenport of Maplesville; sons, Wayne (Melinda) Smith of Montgomery, James Keith Smith of Montevallo; 20 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Emell Hayes, Lois Hunter, Mildred (Johnny) Stone, and Charlotte (Doug) Smitherman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Newton Allen Smith and Myrtle Clarice Smith; granddaughters, Sara Davenport, Amber Davenport; step-daughter, Theresa Levesque; brothers, R.A. Smith, Bill Smith, and Omar Smith.

A visitation will be held on Nov. 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Plantersville.
