Candidates have until Nov. 6 to qualify

Those interested in running for public office in 2016 for both the Republican and Democratic parties have until Friday, Nov. 6 to qualify.
The deadline for candidates for both statewide offices as well as local offices is 5 p.m. Friday.
In Chilton County, qualifying for offices includes the Chilton County Commission (seven seats), district attorney, district judge, circuit judge—Place 2-Autagua County residency requirement and circuit judge—Place 3-Chilton County residency requirement.
Those seeking to run for a state office with the Republican Party must qualify with the Alabama Republican Party at 3505 Lorna Road in Hoover.
Prospective candidates seeking to run for a state office with the Democratic Party must qualify with the Alabama Democratic Party at 501 Adams Avenue in Montgomery.
The 2016 Alabama Primaries will be held March 1, 2016.
The 2016 Alabama General Election will be held Nov. 8, 2016.
