Harold Bordages

The Rev. Harold Bordages, 78, of Clanton, came into this world on July 23, 1937.
He was called home on Sept. 30, to be with his Lord and Savior; the one whom he dedicated his life to serving for 52 years.
He was a beautiful son, brother, devoted husband, amazing daddy, Poppy, Great Poppy, and a faithful servant of God.
In May of 1957 he joined the United States Air Force and served as a reciprocating engine mechanic and a ground support equipment mechanic the last two years of his service.
He served as an inactive reservist and was honorably discharged in May of 1963.
He loved music and was a very talented guitarist and trumpet player.
Throughout his ministry he served churches in the Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama Methodist Conferences.
At the time of his death he was serving Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church in Clanton, as a retired local pastor.
Throughout his years of ministry he was able to touch many lives.
His love of God was such a love that shined around him and he loved sharing that love for God with all that he met.
Harold is preceded in death by his beautiful bride of 52 years, Eleanor O’Farrell Bordages; daughter, Kelley Ann Bordages; parents, John S. and Ruble Smitherman Bordages and sisters, Johnnie Ruth Bordages Roche and Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Bordages Ladner.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Bordages (Henry) Wilkinson and Shelley Bordages (Danny) Carter; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church in Clanton with the Rev. John Brooks officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
A second funeral service will be held on Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. from the Clermont Harbor United Methodist Church in Clermont Harbor, Miss. with the Rev. Richard Handy officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Graveside services with military honors will follow the second service in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Bay St. Louis, Miss. with the Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church or Gentive Hospice, both in Clanton.
