David Randall Acton Jr., 69, of Jemison, passed away on Sept. 16 at his residence.

He was born in Jefferson County on Aug. 11, 1946, the son of the late David Randall Acton Sr. and the late Clara Elizabeth Weger Acton.

He was a former heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by his wife, Dot Acton of Jemison; daughter, Tere Lynn Johnson of Clanton; son, Eugene Bryant of North Carolina; grandchildren, Blake Johnson, Dustin Johnson (Jessica), Aidan Harper and David Acton, along with other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his sons, Michael J. Acton and David M. Acton and parents, David and Clara Acton.

A memorial service will be held Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. from Center Hill Baptist Church in Jemison with the Rev. Jeff Hughes officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
