Andy Wayne Shepherd, 56, of Clanton, quietly left us on Aug. 31 at his residence.

He went to be with the Lord following his long battle with cancer.

He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on Aug. 22, 1959.

He is survived by his son, Michael Lee Shepherd of Parries, Calif.; mother, Catherine J. Langston Johnson of Clanton; brother, John R. Shepherd of Clanton; brother, SGT John W. Johnson Jr. (Amy) of Moody; a special aunt, Virginia “Gin” Sneed and family; along with neighbors, other family members, and friends whom are too many to mention, but loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Estel Shepherd; brother, Jimmy A. Shepherd Sr. and a nephew, Jimmy A. “J.J.” Shepherd Jr.

Funeral services will be held Sept. 3 at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the chapel service.

Burial with military honors will follow at 2:45 p.m. in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
