John Terry King Sr., 66, of Jemison, passed away suddenly on Aug. 7 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born in Jefferson County on Nov. 21, 1948, the son of the late Carl King Sr. and the late Edna Whalen King.

He was a former grocery store manager.

He is survived by his wife, Faye King of Jemison; son, Johnny King (Delilah) of Panama City Beach, Fla.; daughter, Kim Smith (Brian) of Jemison; daughter, Kerri Tillery (Chad) of Jemison; grandchildren; Aidan, Morgan, Colin, Karley and Jemison; sister, Lynette Shirley (Donald) of Chelsea; and brother, Bobby King (Donna) of Chelsea.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Elizabeth King; parents, Carl and Edna King; and brothers, Carl King Jr., Rusty King and Don King.

Funeral services were held Aug. 9 at 3 p.m. from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church No. 1 with the Rev. Billy Wyatt officiating.

Visitation was held two hours prior to the service.

Burial followed in Pine Hill Cemetery in Jemison.
