Local attorney Liz Huntley released a book this month that shares her story of a woman who overcame nightmarish events and tremendous adversity during her childhood to become a successful attorney, motivational speaker and member of the Auburn University Board of Trustees.

Huntley said her book is dedicated to all of the teachers, both natural and spiritual, that Huntley said “God placed in her life to direct her path.”

Released Aug. 1, “More Than A Bird” (available at Amazon.com and on Kindle) made the Top 5 list for Amazon’s Hot New Releases for Teen and Young Adults in the Biography category this past week.

Huntley will host a book launch event beginning at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 10 at Clanton Elementary School.

Several distinguished guests will be in attendance, including Alabama’s First Lady Dianne Bentley.

Books will be available for sale at the event.

The public is invited to attend.

Huntley said proceeds from “More Than A Bird” will support efforts to advocate for the expansion of Alabama’s high-quality, voluntary pre-kindergarten program and to enhance the quality of life for children and families across the state.
