Calvary Independent Baptist Church
We want to say a special thank you to our visitors who attended services this past weekend. We hope you have an opportunity to be back with us again for any or all of our services.
Sunday morning services included a message form Romans 1:8-15 on traits or characteristics of a Christian.
We looked at having a life of thankfulness, faithfulness, prayerfulness, humbleness, usefulness, self-awareness and fruitfulness. If you have the first seven of these traits, you have no doubt started on your journey through life in which all things become new. If so, you will probably also feel an indebtedness and are being prepared for the last one, a life of readiness to serve our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
We hope that you know what it is like to be born-again and walk in newness of life. We hope you are faithfully worshiping and serving the Lord Jesus Christ in a Bible-believing church.
Sunday night services included a message from Luke 24:25-35 about needing to get the Word of God out to others.
We looked at how unbelievers have a heart problem, a thought problem and a vision problem. Their only hope of ever knowing the Word of God is by first hearing it, and then believing it, as it is in truth “the Word of God.”
It takes that before anyone can ever begin a personal relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you know him personally and have the Word of God hidden in your heart, will you go out and tell someone else about this wonderful Savior so they too might find hope in Jesus Christ.
If you are in or near Clanton and looking for a church to visit with this Sunday, we would love to see you at Calvary. For services and events, check us out on Facebook, Twitter or visit our website at www.cibc-clanton.com. Hope to see you this Sunday.

Ephesians 2:1-10 was the scripture for Sunday’s message. While all of the words of the Apostle Paul are very important, the last two verses say the most: “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith—and this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Life happens; life still happens. Sometimes the events of this world make us want to simply be invisible. The Apostle Paul tells us that our faith in Christ will hold us up. Our sins disappear, not us. The power of God’s love never fades, and God’s grace will never go away. Nothing will separate us.
Just doing good works will not save us. God has created us and prepared us to be his agent of good works. God has created us for a special purpose and to do good works. The goodness of Christianity has accomplished so much. People have forgotten God, and as a result, evil has slipped in.
What is your purpose in life? Try to do a little kindness. Try to be the person God created you to be.
Our youth group meetings have resumed on each Wednesday at 6 p.m. Please come and join us for Christian fellowship. If you have any questions, call 688-2204 and leave a message. Someone will get back with you.
