Samaria Baptist Church
What a beautiful day to worship our loving Savior, Jesus Christ. Brother Shane titled his message today, “Rest for the weary.” Isaiah 40, verses 27-31.
How many people have we met that seem to be afraid of God’s supernatural strength? How is God going to give us rest as we go through each and every day of life?
He says in His word that we should take His yoke upon us for it is easy.
Being closer to God is where our strength must come from in order to experience joy and peace in Him. God meets all our needs when we concentrate on Him. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.
People everywhere today are physically and emotionally tired and stressed from the daily grind of life.
Jesus says that if we come unto Him, He will give us rest from our labor and heavy laden experiences of life. Doubting the power of God will rob us of the blessings and rest for our souls.
Christians today need to exhibit an addiction to God’s will. He has the answers that we are in such need of. He is the answer to the sickness in our body, our spirit and our soul. Trusting God will renew our strength, joy and peace.
This is the only way to find true peace. Our prayer concerns today are praise for the improvement of Jennifer Whatley, Buddy Johnson, Lisa Shearon’s family, Tracy Mims, Kids Camp, Floyd Collins, Tucker Jones and his family, Walter and Drusilla Hudgins, Ray and Phyllis Hardee, Cathy Willis and her family.
V.B.S. is August 2-7. Special music today was by Bobby Patterson and Diane Fisher. Join us at Samaria where Jesus is exalted, and you will find peace and joy. Celebrating birthdays today are Brother Shane Wyatt and daughter Lauren Wyatt. God bless you who read this today. You are amazing in God’s eyes.

It’s hot outside, friends! Please stay hydrated and take plenty of rest periods when working that garden or mowing the lawn or pampering those beautiful flowers! But, even though it’s plenty hot outside, its nothing compared to what hell will be like if we are not saved and set aside unto God, bound for heaven.
Our job as Christians is to love everyone, telling them about the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Time is growing shorter; the days are fast approaching when the eastern skies will split open and our sweet Lord Jesus will return for those who are looking for him. Are you ready for that day?
Please friend, if you’re not, now is the time to make the most important decision of your life; make it right with God today, you may never have another chance!
Bro. William Short’s message this week was taken from Jeremiah 17:13-15: O Lord, the hope of Israel, all who forsake You shall be ashamed. Those who depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters.
Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise. Indeed they say to me, where is the word of the Lord? Let it come now!
God is our hope, our only hope in this world that is getting more evil every day. In heaven, there will be no sin, no crying, no sickness, no sorrow, no death! I’ve made my plans to go there, have you?
Scripture says that all people who forsake the Lord will be ashamed. Indeed, Jesus will say to those who did not accept Him as Savior, “depart from me, for I never knew you.”
These are words I do not want to hear! These words will condemn you to a devil’s hell, where your earthly body will burn forever. Pretty gruesome, right? Well, we need to teach and preach the truth today, friend, not sugar coat our words and tickle the ears of those who need Jesus. Their blood will be on our hands if we fail to tell others about the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Every day, doctor’s offices across America are filled with people who are sick, in need of healing. Our physical bodies will wear out, they are not meant to last forever; it’s a fact that one out of one people will die. Not much room for argument there, right?
These bodies we live in start to die the day we are born. But if we are saved by our faith in Jesus Christ, we will have a new body in heaven, one that will last for eternity, never have need of a doctor again.
We worry so much about our physical health that we don’t have time to think about our spiritual health.
Our spiritual side gets sick and needs the healing touch of our Savior more than the physical side does. Ever think about that, friend? Is your spiritual soul in touch with God? Is it well with your soul?
The soul is the only part of us that will never die, what state is your soul in today? Are you resting in the arms of Jesus, depending on Him for your very life? If you are not, you better check up!
Get excited about Jesus again, praise His Holy name everyday in some way. Share your faith with others!
Scripture asks a very important question: Where is the word of the Lord? The word of the Lord is the Bible, written by men as instructed by God Himself. You need look no further than the Bible for answers to all of life’s questions.
For healing, for saving, for salvation, for love everlasting, its all right here in God’s Word. If we have Jesus, we have everything we need to make it through this life. No, it won’t be easy.
There will be bumps, detours, delays, bruises, back-tracking. For even though we are saved, we are still just saved sinners, not perfect, though we should strive to be more like Jesus everyday.
Where is the word of the Lord? Let it come now! Be ready, be prayed up, be looking up, for the salvation of the Lord is at hand! Amen.
Christmas in July is underway now at Mars Hill; Operation Christmas Child shoe box campaign will be collecting school items this month: crayons, notebooks, coloring books, picture books, pencils, pens, etc.
Each month, we will collect different items for our shoe boxes, and the WMU will have a packing party to get the boxes ready for shipping. Be a part of this ministry!
Next Sunday night, we will have a baptism service, followed by the Lord’s Supper. Be a part of this service. It will lift your heart and soul! Quarterly business meeting will be July 22 at 7pm.
Please continue to pray for our church, our pastor, the sick, the lost, the hurting, our children, our military, our missionaries, our government and the peace of Israel. God is good all the time! Amen.
