Carolyn Elizabeth Carter, 67, of Billingsley, passed away July 21.

She was born on March 23, 1948 in Alabama, the daughter of the late William Leon Motley and the late Norma Louise Thomas Motley.

She was a nurse’s aide for home health.

Surviving are her husband, Rickey Carter of Billingsley; sister, Sue (Terry) Green of Billingsley; brother, William Motley of Billingsley; stepson, Joshua (Kari) Carter of Marion, Randy (Cynthia) Tyus of Plantersville; stepdaughter, Kathy Talcott of Billingsley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Jane Carter of Marion; brother-in-law, Ken and Brenda Carter of Marion; sister-in-law, Sue and Al Daily of Marion and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil “Jr” Tyus, father and mother, Leon and Louise Motley and sister, Betty Motley Geiger.

Friends will be received July 23 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Rob Colburn and the Rev. Gurvis Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Billingsley.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Nichols, Josh Thompson, Greg Davis, Bubb Rasberry, Mike Thomas, Randy Tyus and Lawrence Chandler.
