Danny Hurtt passed away on June 15 after a brief illness. Danny was born in Clanton on Aug. 12, 1950. He was 64 years old.
Danny had a love for life and his precious grandchildren. He was an avid sportsman and had many accomplishments in the hunting field. He was a lifetime member of the Texas Trophy Hunters Association, founded by his best friend, Jerry Johnston of San Antonio, Texas, and he never lost touch with his lifelong friend, Benny West.
Danny was the best hunter and sportsman and was quick with a story of many hunting and fishing trips and his favorite hunting dog, Brent. He was a racecar builder and driver and had many friends in the industry. Danny could do it all and was the one we called when we needed something built or fixed.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Hurtt, and his mother, Lucile Bates.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Kilgore Hurtt of Lowndesboro; Amy Williams, and husband, Brian, of Midlothian, Texas, April Nelson and husband, Chris, of Amarillo, Texas; grandchildren, Austin, twins, Payton and Logan, Conner, Ashton and Kaiton; brothers, Jim Powell and wife, Joan, Larry Hurtt and wife, Eileen; sister, Linda Sconyers and husband, Charles; sisters Olive and Betty Joe and brother, George of Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family at Martin’s Funeral Home on July 11 from 5 to 7 p.m.
