Sunday morning, the congregation sang the hymns “Come Unto Me,” “I’d Rather Be an Old-Time Christian,” “I’m Going that Way” and “Heaven’s Jubilee.”
Bro. Wayne Barnett brought a devotion from Matthew 24:36, 42-43: How many people woke up today and thought “Is Jesus is coming today?” He tells us in his word to be prepared. What would we be doing if we knew he was coming? Live like he’s coming today.
After Sunday School, Bro. Wayne Barnett sang “What Heaven Means to Me.”
Bro. Heath Vines preached from Ruth 1:1-6. The grass is not always greener on the other side. When you’re going through a tough time, the devil will make the “other side” —a way that looks greener and much better—look like a way out. Don’t mess around with the other side. Sin will only corrupt you. No matter what, stay with God. Times may not always be easy, but the grass is always greener on God’s side.
Sunday night we held our end-of-the-month singing.
