Bro. Mike Lawrence’s about the mistakes man makes in trying to change God’s plan was taken from John 14:6.
God has something in his will for us, but we want to change it. God planned for man to live forever, but Satan tricked Eve into eating the forbidden fruit, bring death not only to herself and Adam, but also to every individual since.
What is Noah had changed God’s specifications when building the ark? He and his family would have perished along with the rest of the world. What if Moses had not built the tabernacle according to God’s plan? God would have been angry with him.
Today, man tries to make adjustments to God’s plan. Some people think his plan of salvation is too simple. Man cannot save himself; only God can do that.
God said marriage should be between one man and one woman for life, but what did the Supreme Court do? They made same-sex marriage the law of the land.
Look at Sodom and Gomorrah. They were destroyed because they were doing what they wanted to do instead of what God wanted them to do.
Individuals of the same-sex getting married is throwing dirt is God’s face. It is an abomination. If this nation doesn’t repent, God will pour out his wrath on America as he did on Sodom and Gomorrah.
God’s plans are perfect, and they need no adjustment from man.
Everyone is welcome to worship with us at Floyd.
Mt. Carmel No. 1
Songs and praise were given to the Lord as we gathered in his house on Sunday. God’s spirit unites believers for the cause of Christ, and we are thankful for all who came to worship with us.
“What if You Were lost” was the title of Bro. Terry’s message from Acts 20:17-24.
Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus.
People of the church think they do the work of the Lord at the church, but we come to church to learn; then we go out and give our testimonies. Go forth and tell the story of Jesus. There is more to serving the Lord than just meeting at the church.
We are a light for Jesus Christ. Walk in love, and be imitators of God as dearly loved children. If you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you have been deceived, and the deception will lead you to a devil’s hell. He will give you many excuses for not being saved and witnessing for the Lord. Listen to the Lord, and you will find peace in your heart when you accept him as your Savior.
Our VBS kick-off and registration made for a fun-filled afternoon Saturday. The event began with a parade through the community; then there were games, fun and food.
We thank all who had a part in our activities, especially Bro. Wallace for cooking the hamburgers and hotdogs.
VBS began on Sunday night. It got off to a great start, and we thank God each and every person who attended. We look forward to seeing them each night. Keep our church and VBS at the top of your prayer list.
