Jackson Chapel Church

“I was glad when they said unto me, ‘Let us go into the house of the Lord’” (Psalm 122:1).

Bro. Gary Fant got the morning service started off with “Standing on the Promises” and “Tell It to Jesus,” and he blessed us with a beautiful song titled “Has Anyone Seen Jesus Today?”

Bro. Reburn’s text came from John 8:1-12: We as Christians look to everything and everyone for help, but who we really need to look to our lighthouse, which is Jesus Christ. We need to get out of the dark and look to the lighthouse for guidance because Jesus Christ will not lead us in the wrong direction.

We put confidence in everything man makes, but we need to stop depending on the things of the world and start looking to Jesus Christ who makes all the difference in our lives.

The service ended with several coming to pray.

Please remember these as you pray this week: Wayne Cobb, Teresa Speakman, Jase Carroll, Gina Lynn Riley, the Heflin family, our lost loved ones, unspoken requests, our country, our leaders, our service members and our lost loved ones.

Upcoming events:

Revival will be held at 7 p.m. each night July 12-15. Bro. Billy Burcham will be the guest speaker and we will have special music each night.

Calvary Independent Baptist Church

Sunday morning’s service included a message from Isaiah 9:8-21, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Revelation 3:20 and Psalm 33:1-15. We looked at how America has become a nation of self-destruction because we are people of selfish desire; yet we still have opportunity. We can once more become people who desire to praise the Lord, who want the blessedness that only comes through having the promises of God as his children—but it must begin with us; it must begin with God’s people. Are we willing, and are we ready? If so the Lord Jesus Christ is able. Let’s pray that we become one nation under God once more. Sunday night services included a short song services, a short message from Matthew 7:21-23 and Acts 9:1-5 on hearing the voice of God. After services upstairs we went downstairs and celebrated birthdays and anniversaries for this month with food and fellowship.

We want to invite you to our VBS programs, which will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. July 20-24 and 4-6 p.m. on July 25. We will also have an adult class each night, so if you bring kids for VBS, or if you do not have children, we would love to have you take part. You can pre-register your kids at our website. The bus will run each night for those in need of transportation.
