Mount Carmel No. 1

Service began with a time of welcoming and greeting for visitors and the church family. A special prayer was offered all fathers to follow in the Lord’s footsteps, and to love and guide their families in the spirit of the Lord.

The praise team led the song service with “What a Day That Will Be.” Donald Liveoak and Terry Smith sang “Thanks to Calvary.”

The message for the day was taken from Luke 15:11-32 titled “The Prodigal Son.”

Fathers have a responsibility unto God to make sure their children attend church and read the Bible. Fathers are responsible for teaching their children to pray and obey the rules. The father should set the rules in the home.

In the story of the prodigal son, the younger son asked for the portion that was coming to him. He then wasted his portion through unrighteous living, and when he had spent all he had, he began to be in want.

Recognizing his need, he said, “I will arise and go to my father and say to him, ‘I have sinned against heaven and before thee.’” When the father saw his son coming, he ran to him and said, “My son whom I thought dead is alive! Son, thou art ever with me, and all I have is thine.”

We choose to be lost. Our heavenly Father is waiting with open arms for us to come home.

Fathers, let your children see your faith in action.

Those who missed our steak supper on Thursday missed a good treat. We thank Wallace and Trudy Bates and their son for cooking the steaks and making our evening a success. God bless you.
