Darlene Coggins, 56, of Clanton, passed away on May 27 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born on Aug. 11, 1958, in Birmingham, the daughter of the late Jonny Thomas and Tommie Lawley.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Coggins of Clanton; son, Roger Coggins Jr. (Rachel) of Clanton; grandchildren, Sheldon Lynn Coggins, Conner David Coggins, and Logan Roger Coggins all of Clanton; brother-in-law, Ronnie Coggins of Clanton; mother, Tommie Stephenson of Dogwood; sister, Diane Dailey of Pea Ridge and sister, Holly Hicks (Walter) of Homewood.

She is preceded in death by her father, Johnny Thomas and her grandparents, John L. and Lola Thomas.

Funeral services will be held on May 30, 2015 from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Shane D. Ogle officiating.

Burial will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Clanton.

The family will receive friends on May 29 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
