Rocky Mount UMC

This past Pentecost Sunday, we were reminded of a wonderful promise Jesus made to his disciples, the promise that we would never be alone.

How many times have you pitied a widowed co-worker as she faces surgery alone, or a teen going through the angst of the age without parental support—alone? At times, the challenges of life seem almost too much to bear alone. When life’s challenges are over-whelming and we have no words to pray, or when we feel out of gas and coasting down a desolate empty road, remember this promise.

The Holy Spirit is our intercessor. He speaks for us when we are in the foreign country of sadness, and he makes us understood to our Heavenly Father. He listens to our daily prayers to provide the needed words to God Almighty. He bolsters our faith when we are weak. In times when Satan attacks by planting seeds of doubt and distrust in the Word, the Holy Spirit is there to assure us that we are not alone. As a child of God, always remember that you are never alone. Somebody is always praying for you.

Mark your calendars for July 12 to enjoy food, fun and fellowship at Rocky Mount. Hamburgers, hotdogs, apple pie and homemade ice cream will be our nod to summer. The Rocky Mount Hunt and Gun Club will open the firing range for “quiet” competition. BB guns, pellet guns and sling shots will be used to challenge the avid marksman. Join us for this special afternoon activity.

More information on registration for the Rocky Mount Hunt and Gun Club is available in the sanctuary. Visit on Sunday and pick up a copy.

Don’t miss Hobby Day on the second Thursday of each month.

Our summer worship schedule has begun, and we have no regular Sunday evening worship at this time.
