Joseph “Joe” Thomas Castaing Jr., age 50 of Jemison, passed away suddenly on May 25 in Jemison.

He was born in Montgomery on Sept. 5, 1964, the son of the late Joseph Thomas Castaing Sr. and the late Genevieve Stann Castaing.

He was a truck driver and mechanic with Chilton Contractors.

He is survived by his wife, April Marler Castaing of Jemison; daughter, Heather (Ronny) Kennedy of Chalmette, La.; son, Joseph “Little Joe” Castaing of Jemison; grandchildren, Lilly and Lainey Kennedy of Chalmette, La. and a sister, Lisa Riefel of La.

Visitation will be held May 27 from 6-8 p.m. at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held May 28 at 11 a.m. from Union Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Matt Hilyer officiating.

The body will be in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Union Grove Community Cemetery in Jemison.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Union Grove Community Cemetery Fund 11935 County Road 42 in Jemison, AL 35085.
