Joyce Ann Brooks, 67, of Thorsby, passed away May 14 at her residence.

She was born on Nov. 19, 1947, in Clanton, the daughter of the late Bernie Watley and Lester “Polly” Robinson Watley Sansom.

She was supervisor in the vinyl sign manufacturing business.

Surviving are husband, Michael G. Brooks of Thorsby; mother, Polly (Clyde) Watley Sansom of Thorsby; two daughters, Angie (Carl) Caudle of Clanton and Crystal (Jeff) Smith of Thorsby; four grandsons, Ryan (Janet) Jones of Thorsby, Tyler Rutherford of Clanton, Alex Rutherford of Clanton, Jacob Smith of Thorsby;granddaughter, Hannah Smith of Thorsby; step-grandchildren, Chelsea, Justin and Dawson Caudle of Clanton; great-grandsons, Brody and Gavin Jones of Thorsby; brother, Bob (Carolyn) Watley of Thorsby; two sisters, Carol (Wayne) Thompson of Jemison, Patricia (Glenn) Porter of Jemison and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bernie Watley.

Friends will be received from noon until 2:30 p.m. May 17 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with services following at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Jones officiating.

Interment will follow in Pates Chapel Baptist Cemetery in Jemison.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
