Ethel Marie Jones Hayes, 80, of Thorsby, passed away on May 14 at her residence.

She was born in Chilton County on April 25, 1935, the daughter of the late Robert Lee Jones and the late Ora Mae Cofer Jones.

She was a former beautician.

She is survived by sister, Jean Jones Briner of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Sarah Jones Langham of Jemison; seven nieces; three nephews; adopted daughter, Carolyn Popwell of Thorsby; special friend and cousin, Eleanor Thompson, and special friends, Joyce and Jimmy Richardson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Loy Hayes, and daughter, Treasa Lin.

Visitation was held May 15 from 5-8 p.m. at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held May 16 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery in Maplesville.
