Tree talk: Josh Elmore with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System talks about wildlife management to participants of a Forest and Wildlife Management Demonstration Tour held near Maplesville.
A Forest and Wildlife Management Demonstration was held April 24 near the Chilton County/Dallas County line.
Tour topics included landowner objectives and perspectives; longleaf and loblolly pine management; prescribed burning and fire breaks; native ground cover and planted food plots; and cost share assistance for soil, water, forest and wildlife management.
The tour was sponsored by Clean Water Partnership Alabama, Chilton County Master Gardeners, Chilton Co. S&WCD, NRCS, Alabama Extension and Alabama Forestry Commission.

Wagons pulled by pickup trucks moved people along on the tour. There were about 40 people in attendance.
