Carl Durwood Gray, 78, of Verbena, passed away April 27 at his home.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1936, in Sylacauga, the son of the late Carl Felton Gray and the late Agnes Davis Gray.

He was a fireman.

He is survived by his wife, Corine Seales Gray of Verbena; son, Guy (Shannon) Gray of Clanton; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Billy (Connie) Gray of Clanton; brother, Charles (Judy) Gray of Calera, and special loved ones, Brenda (Chris) Littlefield of Clanton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Felton Gray and Agnes Gray; son, Derek Gray; son, Steve Gray; great-grandson, Kason Cole; brother, Earl Gray; and sister, Melba Meank.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 29 at 3 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Powell officiating. The family will receive friends on April 29 one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
