Floyd Baptist Church
On April 19, Floyd celebrated its 100-year anniversary with a homecoming celebration. The day began with a multimedia slideshow containing pictures of events that have taken place at the church over the years.
After the opening hymn and a prayer, The Revelators Quartet from north Alabama blessed the crowd with their songs. Afterward, long-time members of the church shared their memories of riding horses to church and they talked about what the church was like in those days.
Dr. Sammy Gilbreath was the special speaker who brought the morning message.
At noon, a group photo was taken, and lunch was served in the fellowship hall while the photo slideshow was shown for a second time. After lunch, the congregation sang a song; then The Revelators sang until dismissal.
A time capsule that was last opened in 1992 was opened once again while we were in the fellowship hall. This concluded the events of the homecoming day.
Everyone is welcome to worship with us at Floyd.

Bro. Ken Daniel’s message was taken from Acts 2:1-13,37-39 and titled “The Promise of Pentecost.” He spoke about the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and the baptism of 3,000 believers.
In the evening service, the text for the sermon “The Great Commission” was taken from Matthew 38:16-20. There are many people in need, and we are to go out and reach them.
The WMU ladies had a wonderful time in Orange Beach last weekend. Anita Glover headed up a great trip.
