Calvary Independent Baptist Church
Sunday morning services started at 6 a.m. with a sunrise service led by Bro. Chris Childress. His message from Matthew 28 explained how the Easter Bunny and Easter eggs have been brought in from pagan worship, but the Easter we celebrate focuses on the risen Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our regularly scheduled Sunday morning service included a message from Luke 24 about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It was followed by a communion service.
Sunday night services included a message from Acts 18 on how men can be fools by saying in their hearts that there is no God, yet their head knows better.
According to Psalm 19 and 119, men have the revelation of God, yet many will still choose to acknowledge the creation instead of the Creator. The King James Bible tells us about a wonderful place called heaven, a place where we can go one day if we have received the free gift of eternal life. For a gift to be yours, you must receive it. Have you believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and received the gift of eternal life?
The gospel of Christ is based on the fact that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day. This is the gospel that is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that will believe.
If you are not sure of your salvation, have questions concerning the gospels of the Bible or other biblical doctrines, we invite you to visit with us and see if being a part of our services will help you to find biblical answers. We are a bible-teaching and preaching church. We encourage you to study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Mountain Springs Church
Sunrise service began at 6 a.m. on Sunday morning. Mark Bolton gave the sermon for that service.
The congregation came back together for the regular service and sang “Jesus is Coming Soon,” “Victory in Jesus,” “He Lives” and “Where the Milk and Honey Flows.”
Bro. Roger Cleckler brought a devotion from Matthew 27:22. What are you going to do with this man named Jesus? That’s an eternal question. When we get to heaven, God will either say “Enter in,” or “Depart; I never knew you!”
After Sunday School, Avree Parrish, Gracie Vines and Kristin Thomas sang “There Was Jesus.”
Bro. Heath Vines preached from Luke 24:1-12. If Jesus can rise from the dead, he has the power to save, cleanse and forgive you. Easter is full of promises, and God has left us some empty promises: The cross is now empty, and because it is empty, we can have forgiveness. The tomb is now empty, and because of this empty tomb, we can now have life. Jesus took away death’s sting. Lastly, he left the empty grave clothes. Christ didn’t need those grave clothes anymore. He folded them up neatly and laid them in the tomb. Jesus is alive and well!
Sunday evening, the congregation sang the following songs: “Revive Us Again,” “Oh, I Want to See Him” and “Life’s Railway to Heaven.”
Bro. Kenneth Moates brought a devotion from Luke 24:10-11.
The church choir sang, “This Blood,” and Avree Parrish, Kristin Thomas and Gracie Vines sang “Introduction.”
Bro. Heath Vines preached from Matthew 9:27-31. What man calls impossible, God calls possible—it’s all according to our faith.
In Matthew 9:28, Jesus asks, “Believe ye that I am able to do this?” How are we answering to this question? Some examples of stories where God touched and healed include Matthew 8:3, 15. God touched them according to their faith. Unbelief prevents God’s moving.
Faith is knowing that God will move, not just believing that he will. Faith is talked about many times in Hebrews 11. Do you want God to do something in your life? How is your faith? (James 1:6).
Mountain Springs’ Mother/Daughter Banquet will be held on May 9 at 2 p.m. Kyla Rowland will be the speaker.
A singing with Barry Rowland and Deliverance will be held on May 9 at 7 p.m.
