Floyd Baptist Church

Bro. Mike Lawrence’s message was taken from Deuteronomy 33:27-28.

Some people want to badly to be successful that they worship the false god Midas. They believe the accumulation of things, prestige and power is the ultimate end. Some people make a living, but don’t make a life. They strive to be successful, but no one can be successful without God.

Christians should not become hermits. God tells to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. He wants us to witness and testify.

We should not seek those things that are nonessential, as they only waste time and keep us from God. We should seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all we need will be given to us.

When we put God in the center of our lives, nothing can get to us unless it is God’s will. He may allow us to be tested from time to time, but he only does so for the purpose of increasing our faith and strengthening us. We all need to lean on the everlasting arms of God.

Friendship Baptist Church

Our choir special was “You Are Worthy,” with a solo part by Doris Wyatt.

Bro. Ken Daniel’s message “Peter’s Great Denial” was taken from Luke 22:31-34, 54-62.

In the evening service, the message “The Crucifixion of the King” was based on scripture from Luke 23:32-34. To what degree can we ask for forgiveness? We shouldn’t let our pride get in the way.

We welcomed new members James and Sandra Smitherman.
