Benny Harold Gore

Benny Harold Gore, 70, of Clanton, passed away suddenly on March 30, 2015, at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on March 1, 1945, the son of the late Edom Joseph Gore and the late Lois Marie Collins Gore.

He was a salesman. Benny was known all over the area for his handcrafted rocking chairs, swings and chairs.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Gore of Clanton; daughter, Tammy Price (Ryan) of Clanton; step-daughters, Rachel Thomas (Ronnie) of Centreville, Janet Garner of Centreville and Kim Gibson (Robert) of Perry County; step-son, Robert Swindle (Kathy) of Perry County; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on March 31 from 5-8 p.m. at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held April 1 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Martin and the Rev. Daniel Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton.
