Jo Cheryl Calder, age 57 of Jemison, passed away on March 24 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born in Marion, S.C., on April 15, 1957, the daughter of the late Joe Robert Calder and Margaret Brown Calder.

She was a former bus driver.

She is survived by son, Steven Shay (Ashley) Thrash of Chelsea; son, Casey Shaun (Caitlin) Thrash of Thorsby; step-son, Gregory Brian (Heather) Thrash of Jemison; step-son, Christopher Lamar (Heidi) Thrash of Calera; step-son, Brandon Lynn Thrash of Jemison; seven grandchildren; mother, Margaret Brown Calder of Marion, S.C.; sister, Judy Shaw Floyd of Marion, S.C.; sister, Pat Thompson of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; along with two nieces and two nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Robert Calder.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on March 27, at 11 a.m. from Rocky Mount United Methodist Church with the Rev. Willard Fredrick and the Rev. Billy Wyatt officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rocky Mount Cemetery in Jemison.
