Christy Dawn Varden, age 41, of Clanton, passed away on March 5 at her home.

She was born on July 22, 1973, in Clanton, to the late Horace Durell Howell and Peggy Sue Lewis.

She was a staffing agent.

She is survived by her son, Cain Varden of Clanton; son, Colin Cleckley of Clanton; mother, Peggy Sue Jones of Clanton; sister, Regina Mims of Jemison; sister, Tracy Jackson of Thorsby; step-brother, Rodney Howell of Cleveland, Miss.; step-brother, Larry Howell of Jemison; step-brother, Bradford Howell of Cleveland, Miss. and a step-sister, Lori Simmons of Cleveland, Miss.

She is preceded in death by her father, Durell Howell.

A memorial service will be held on March 8 at 3 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Hughes officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

The family requests no flowers; instead make donations toward funeral expenses at the funeral home.
