Emma Jean Porter, 82, of Clanton, passed away on Feb. 19 in Jemison.

She was born in Chilton County on Feb. 17, 1933, the daughter of the late George M. Porter and the late Eatha Ellen Ellison.

She was a former basket maker with the Jemison Basket Company.

She is survived by her sister, Christine Ellison of Clanton; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Eatha Porter; brothers, Vernon Porter, Carl Porter, George T. Porter, and the Rev. Bunion Porter and a sister, Pearline Martin.

Funeral services will be held Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. from Thompson Chapel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Billy Boatwright, the Rev. Mark Bolton and the Rev. Thurmond Cleckler officiating.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Clanton.
