Edward Earl Jones, 79, of Verbena, passed away on Jan. 28 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born in Clanton on Oct. 16, 1935, the son of the late Joseph E. Jones and the late Joseph E. Jones and the late Bonnie Ruth Littleton Jones.

He owned and operated a heating and cooling company.

He is survived by daughter, Tammy Jones Oaks of Dallas, Ga., daughter, Lissa Jones Adams of Maitland, Fla.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and sisters, Margaret Geho of Rome, Ga., Sue Vancleave of Little Elm, Texas and Carolyn McDaniel of Northport.

A graveside funeral service will be held Feb. 2 at 2:45 p.m. in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo with the Rev. Don Vanderslice officiating.

There will be no visitation.

The family requests no flowers, but encourage memorial contributions to be made to your local VFW.
