A parade was held in honor of the late Dr. Matin Luther King Jr. The parade started in City Park, going through downtown and ended at E.M. Henry Park.
Several events honoring the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were held in Clanton on Jan. 19, including a prayer breakfast at Hopewell Baptist Church, as well as a parade through downtown.

Speakers at a MLK Jr. Day prayer breakfast at Hopewell Baptist Church included Elder Elijah Good of the World’s Church of The Living God.

Minister Kenneth Allison (below, right), chairman of the Chilton County Alabama Democratic Conference, also spoke to the crowd at the prayer breakfast.

Greg DeJarnett, Clanton City Councilman and minister at West End Church of Christ, spoke at the prayer breakfast held at Hopewell Baptist.
