Shirley Ann Truitt Whitfield, 83, of Jemison, passed away on Jan. 15 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
She was born in St. Clair County on Jan. 2, 1932, the daughter of the late Dewin Homer Truitt and the late Jessie Gertrude Smith Truitt.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Whitfield Sr. of Jemison; daughter, Karen W. Davis (Forrest) of Hoover; son, Bill Whitfield Jr. (Suzanne) of Hoover; son, Tim Whitfield (Sue) of Wilsonville; granddaughter, Valerie Salinas (Greg) of Hoover; grandsons, Andrew Davis (Jen-Yu) of Leeds, Daniel Davis (Magen) of Hoover, and Ben Whitfield of Dallas, Texas; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Burks of Benton, La., and sister-in-law, Mary Anne Doster of Hartwell, Ga.
Funeral services will be on Jan. 18 at 3 p.m. from Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. David Bishop officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
A graveside service will follow on Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
