Samuel Thomas “Tom” Bentley Jr., 68, of Thorsby, passed away Jan. 13.

He was born on Sept. 24, 1946, in Birmingham, the son of the late Samuel Thomas Bentley Sr. and Bess Nix Bentley.

He was a farmer.

Surviving are his son, Clay (Julie) Bentley of Thorsby; grandchildren, Brooks Bentley, Anna Bell Bentley, Abby Ross Bentley; mother, Bess Bentley of Thorsby; sister, Becky Gallups of Gulf Shores; nephews, Stacy Finley (Kelly), Shane Finley (Tina); niece, Susan Anderson (J.R.) and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Carol Bentley; father, Sam Bentley and sister, Susan Bentley.

Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. Jan. 15 at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. at Thorsby First Baptist Church with the Rev. Marc Hodges and the Rev. Vaughn McQueen officiating.

Interment will follow in Thorsby Memorial Cemetery in Thorsby.
