Chilton County Basketball Tournament (photo gallery)

The 2015 Chilton County Basketball Tournament took place Jan. 5-10 at Alton Cobb Gymnasium in Jemison. Isabella served as the host team. Jemison’s B-Team, Thorsby’s girls varsity team and Chilton County’s boys varsity team all captured tournament championships in their respective brackets.

- All-County Football: The following players were recognized during the county basketball tournament for making the All-County Football squad. They are, listed by school: Chilton County: Anthony Chavez, Keandre Binion, Tyler Henderson, Kevin Kemp, Keshawn White, Colton Scott and Trenton Bishop; Isabella: Jason Buchanan, Jacob Carroll, Austin Parker, Chase Pate, Will Posey, Todd Smith, Tyler Smith, Scottie Underwood and Fidell Wilson; Jemison: Jaustin Cox, James Griffin, Jacob Harley, Shawn Poe, Dylan Shaner and Shun Derrius Strong; Maplesville: Kendarius Bradley, Nathan Bush, Larry Leggett, Troy Harrison, Dalton Ray, Tyler Armstrong and Anthony Moore; Thorsby: Alex Robinson, Kevin Owens, Tyler Bowden, Dustin Shackleford, Austin Crumpton, Tyler Owens, Darian Wilson and Alex Dawson; Verbena: Quandarius Ray, Chris Smith, Austin Knight, Stephen Wright and Grant Deavers.

- All-County girls basketball: The following players were named to the all-tournament team for girls basketball: Kristina Caton (CCHS), Kadesha Lee (CCHS), Caley Booth (Isabella), India Satterfield (Jemison), Laura Vinzant (Jemison), Taylor Ray (Jemison), Kendrauna Griffen (Maplesville), Amber Uptain (Maplesville), Lilyana Barnett (Thorsby), Zakeya Robinson (Thorsby), Sabrina Ellison (Thorsby) and Makaylie Kelley (Verbena).

- Hunnicutt Award: The Craig Hunnicutt Scholarship Award, selected and sponsored by the Chilton County Principals and Coaches’ Association, was presented to Isabella High’s Sarah Graham.
