Lola Mae Littleton Elrod Ellison

Lola Mae Littleton Elrod Ellison, age 86 of Jemison and formerly of Clanton, passed away on Jan. 1, 2015, at her residence.

She was born in Chilton County on May 30, 1928, the daughter of the late Forrest Lee Littleton Sr. and the late Rilla Littlefield Littleton.

She was a loving homemaker after she worked several years as a seamstress at the Thorsby Sewing Plant. She was also a caregiver/companion to Mr. and Mrs. Bean of the Clanton area. She was also a devoted wife and loving mother.

She is survived by: devoted daughter, Linda Gail Elrod of Jemison; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; along with loving nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents along with: first husband, Johnnie Verbon Elrod; second husband, Harvie Lee Ellison; son, Verbon Oneal Elrod; son, Harold Dean “Mickey” Elrod; brothers, Earl Littleton, Robert Littleton and Forrest Lee Littleton Jr.; and a sister, Flossie Hicks.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.

The family will receive friends from noon until service time at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Jemison.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery in Jemison.

The family would like to thank her caregivers: Patricia Ellison, Christina Gaskin, Faye King and DeeAnn Pate, as well as the staff of Gentiva Hospice.
