Calvary Independent Baptist Church
We want to thank everyone who took part in our services this weekend. We are especially thankful for our visitors and the dads who were at Calvary with their sons and daughters this weekend. We are thankful for the new ministries that God has begun recently and ask that everyone be in prayer for those stepping up to serve Christ.
On June 24, beginning at 6 p.m., we have been invited to participate in a service with Bro. Ralph Bingham and “Through the Grace of God Ministries.” We are thankful for that opportunity for a great time of worship and fellowship together. Everyone is invited, and we hope to see you there.
We trust that the Christian people of Chilton County are taking the opportunity not only to see, but be a part of what God is doing abroad in our area. This Sunday we will have a baptismal service at the end of our morning worship service. We would love to see you at Calvary this weekend.
Cedar Grove Church
Jesus is coming soon!
Pastor Jeff Carroll’s text comes from 1 Corinthians 9:1-27 titled “Four Questions.”
(1) Am I not an apostle? Paul had a calling upon his life to spread the gospel. He became like all men so that he may save some. Paul was born a Roman citizen.
(2) Am I not free? Paul was now an apostle redeemed and set free by God to spread the gospel of Jesus. We see today the wickedness of people in power who are trying to take away our freedom of choice regarding how we worship, owning guns, etc. In the time of Paul there was a life of slavery. For preaching the gospel Paul was taken before the king, which is just where God wanted him to be to preach Jesus Christ. Unlike in Paul’s day, we are not bound by religious ceremonies, the law or doctrines.
(3) Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus to carry out a decree to find, persecute and kill Christians. God struck Paul down blind for three days. By the time God returned his sight, Paul was an apostle going out to preach the gospel of Christ. If we will but let him, God can change us too. He is Lord of lords and King of kings. Until you see Jesus for who he is, you cannot and are not saved, plain and simple.
(4) Are you not my work in the Lord? Working with the lost, working with the Church, to spread the gospel. We in the flesh identify ourselves as carpenters, lawyers, nurses and farmers, but first and foremost we are to be laborers for Christ, establishing the church. Jesus said, “I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” We are to take our walk with Christ just as seriously as Paul did. Therefore I run the race not for a corruptible crown of the world, but an incorruptible crown of life everlasting. I discipline my body and bring it under subjection lest when I have preached to others, I myself should not be disqualified, through the flesh destroying us to destruction and damnation.
We need to be careful to not be deceived into taking our salvation for granted. We need to know that we know our eternal destination. O, God, my God, let others see Christ in me always!
We welcome all to come and join us in worship at Cedar Grove. Love to all and have a blessed week.

Bethsalem Baptist Church
We had a wonderful Father’s Day celebration. Bro. Cleve directed our music in recognition of godly fathers. Many people gave their testimony about what their fathers meant to them.
Our Celebration Choir special was “Christ Alive, Christ Triumphant.” Bro. Justin read scripture from Luke 23, Genesis 2:15; 3:24 and 4:9 about defending the territory. Does your father figure play a part in your life? Does he make a difference in your life? It was a great spiritual service.
There was no evening service.
